Minister of Music (October 2021 – present)

It’s a real joy to serve Guess Road Baptist {again}. 

From attending First Baptist (Monroe) as an infant, Forest Hills Baptist (Richmond, VA) and being baptized at age 12; my family attended church every Sunday together. I entered Campbell College in 1972 as a Music Major. Born in Monroe, NC; Married to Shirley Austin; Bachelor of Music Degree from Campbell University, retired from US Army Bands (1998) as a soldier/musician while playing low brass instruments for over 50 years (Tuba, Trombone, etc.)

Shirley and I have served various churches in our lifetime together: Hopewell, VA, Germany and Durham, NC. I first served Guess Road from 2002-2004; and it is wonderful to be back with so many of my friends. I joined the North Carolina Baptist Singers and Orchestra in 2019.  Upcoming Worship events in 2022 are in Wilson, Durham and Burlington.

Our choir rehearses each Wednesday at 6 pm in the choir room. We encourage regular attendance and welcome you to join us.
